Cheira a lavanda e rosmaninho.

É rico o legado megalítico do concelho.

E as lontras, claro, as Prima Donas deste bailado aquático.

Today my attention goes to the Earth element.

It smells like rosemary and lavender up here. The bees dance around the flowers. The wind blows softly in the treetops. We are in the Cabeção's Forest.

The megalithic legacy of this county is quite impressive. In Cabeção we can see the beautiful
Cromlech I, included in the megalithic route of the Mount of the Order.

Visiting the cromlechs  is a beautiful walk through the fields, feeling the breathe of old times.

The Church of Our Lady of Purification. The story goes that in 1279 this church already existed, located in a farm given to Princess Constança, the natural daughter of King D. Dinis. Cabeção's parish is also called Our Lady of Purification.

Finish the day by visiting the

Have you ever heard of Mora's River Aquarium? Probably yes. Otherwise, I can say that it is a place you must visit and one of the best programs to do with children in the Alentejo.

There are three things I like about this Aquarium. The first is its architecture, spacious, airy, modern. A beautiful structure, white as the houses in Alentejo, well inserted in the landscape. And very photogenic.

Welcome to Mora's Aquarium. You are about to get into this world of fish, reptiles and otters.

The second is its interior, the real reason to visit this space, with fish and small fish, some gray, some more colorful. And of course the otters, the Prima Donnas of this aquatic ballet.
The River Aquarium offers to the visitor a simulation of the natural aquatic and terrestrial habitats, in a pathway from the source to the river mouth.

The third one is its surroundings which include the small artificial lake at the end of the visit.

The last time I went for a walk in this area was in September 2016 and
a colorful and vibrant landscape of many small flowers gave itself to my eyes.

You can finish your visit by passing by the Gameiro's Dam Bar and drink something. Or have an ice cream on hot summer days.
